Top 10 Best Evolution Stones in Cobblemon

Featured as an alternative evolution means since the very first Pokémon game, evolution stones are a staple of any playthrough.

Rather than reaching a certain level, you can simply hold a stone in your hand and right-click the designated Pokémon.

In Cobblemon, finding these stones is super simple. All you have to do is explore caves as normal, and you’re sure to encounter them.

However, each stone has specific biome spawning requirements. I’m here to tell you the 10 best evolution stones in Cobblemon, and where to find them!

10) Dawn Stone

Where to find: Peaks Biomes

Currently, the dawn stone is used to evolve just two types of Pokémon. Namely a male Kirlia, or female Snorunt.

Neither are actually in the game yet, but the dawn stone is still available to find. It’s surely worth obtaining one or two for your inventory, ready for the Pokémon to reach Cobblemon.

9) Dusk Stone

Where to find: Taiga Biomes

Used to evolve 4 different Pokémon, many of which are already in the game. Misdreavus and Doublade are excellent examples of powerful Pokémon you can evolve with this stone.

However, Taiga biomes are quite rare. It’s tough to find a decent-sized Taiga biome, you may need to travel for thousands of blocks.

For this reason, obtaining a dusk stone tends to be an adventure all in itself!

8) Shiny Stone

Where to find: Floral Biomes

Unfortunately, no Pokémon that need the shiny stone are currently in the game. A particularly recognizable example would be Togetic.

With that being said, expect the shiny stone to play a big role in Cobblemon in future updates. It has a unique name and appearance, and will likely be used alongside some kind of shiny Pokémon system. Top up on them when you can!

7) Fire Stone

Where to find: Desert Biomes

Eevee, Growlithe, and Vulpix are all readily available in Cobblemon. These are strong Fire-type Pokémon that evolve into powerful members of your team.

Fire stones are easily available as you can simply find a cave in a desert biome and start mining. As well as being easy to find, fire stones can be used to craft Charcoal Sticks to further improve your Fire-type Pokémon’s offensive capabilities!

6) Sun Stone

Where to find: Badlands & Dripstone Biomes

Only Gloom is available for sun stone evolutions in Cobblemon. Other Pokémon such as Sunkern and Helioptile are yet to be added.

Gloom’s evolution into Bellossom is super cute and can be a strong Pokémon to add to your arsenal. Many of the other sun stone evolutions are relatively simple Pokémon to model and animate, so expect them to be added in the future!

5) Water Stone

Where to find: Ocean, River, and Swamp Biomes

The water stone is certainly one of the best evolution stones in Cobblemon, thanks to the amount of Pokémon available to use it.

Poliwhirl, Shellder, and Staryu are some examples. These are all dual-type water Pokémon for you to choose from when putting your team together.

All of them are easy to find, too. To get your hands on water stone, simply disembark from your boat while you’re traversing the ocean.

View the ocean floor for a few minutes, and you’ll be sure to encounter this evolution stone.

4) Moon Stone

Where to find: Dripstone Biomes

Moon stones were the first evolution stone you could obtain in Pokémon, and the evolution pool has expanded as time has gone on.

The usual Clefairy and Jigglypuff are common to find in Cobblemon, but you can also find Nidorans in certain biomes!

While players don’t tend to use these Pokémon all too often, moon stones are common to find and will allow you to expand your collection of Pokés very easily.

3) Ice Stone

Where to find: Glacial & Tundra Biomes

Thankfully, there are plenty of Ice-type Pokémon in Cobblemon. Although you may have to embark on some dangerous travels to find the correct biomes.

The Ice-type Pokémon that exist don’t actually need the ice stone. The only Pokémon that needs it is Eevee.

You can use the ice stone to craft a Never-Melt Ice though, which helps boost the power of Ice-type moves by 20%!

2) Leaf Stone

Where to find: Forest & Jungle Biomes

Leaf stones have the joint-most amount of Pokémon requiring it for evolution, and plenty of them exist in Cobblemon.

A few key creatures to mention are Exeggcute, Weepinbell, and Nuzleaf. All can be found in the various forest and jungle biomes of your Minecraft world.

In addition, the leaf stone can be used to craft a Miracle Seed, increasing the power of grass-type moves by a whopping 20%!

1) Thunder Stone

Where to find: Highlands & Hills Biomes

The thunder stone is the best and most valuable evolution stone in Cobblemon due to its rarity and range of evolutions.

7 Pokémon require this stone to evolve, with 4 of them already implemented into Cobblemon. You can even add Chargabug using a mod.

You won’t use any other evolution stones as much as thunder stones, as you flesh out your team or collect them all!
