Project Zomboid: Top 10 Best Fire & light Sources

Fire is one of the most important resources in Project Zomboid, and it’s something you’ll need to learn to use effectively.

In this post, we’ll cover all the different types of fire sources available, their pros and cons, and how they can be used in different scenarios.

10) Propane Torch

The propane torch is a versatile fire source that you can use for a variety of tasks in Project Zomboid. It has a burn time of 2 hours and a heat output of 3. The propane torch is also very easy to use–just light the torch and you’re good to go!

In terms of advantages, it’s portable and can be carried with you wherever you go. It’s also very useful for killing zombies, as it can be used as a melee weapon.

On the downside, you’ll need to find propane tanks to keep the torch burning, and these tanks can be relatively rare in the game. We recommend using the propane torch for tasks such as cooking and lighting, as well as for self-defense against zombies.

9) Wood-Burning Stove

The wood-burning stove is a great source of heat in Project Zomboid that you can find in most houses. It has a burn time of 6 hours and a heat output of 6, making it one of the most effective sources of heat in the game.

In terms of ease of use; just load it up with firewood and light it!

8) Flare

A quick and easy source of light, but it’s not without its drawbacks. The burn time is only 1 hour and it has a high availability rating of 5, meaning that you’ll have to find them in the world or craft them yourself.

However, they are extremely easy to use and can be thrown at zombies or other players as well as used as light sources.

The flare has an output of 4 heat points per second which makes it one of the best options out there if you need some quick warmth in an emergency situation!

7) Firebomb

Firebombs are ideal for when you need to clear out a room, but they’re not so great at providing warmth. The burn time of 10 hours is decent, but the heat output is only 2–meaning that it’s going to take a while for your firebomb to warm up any significant amount of space.

It’s also worth noting that firebombs have an availability rating of 2: they’re fairly common in houses and shops around town, but if you want one from your local hardware store or supermarket, expect some searching first!

The ease-of-use rating for this item is 7 out of 10: it doesn’t take much effort on your part before you’ve got yourself a roaring blaze going on (and we all know how dangerous fires can be). However, once lit there isn’t much else involved aside from waiting until everything burns away; there aren’t any extra features like adding fuel or controlling its direction or anything like that.

6) Molotov Cocktail

The Molotov Cocktail is a fire source that can be crafted from any bottle, rag and fuel. It has an 8 hour burn time and a heat output of 3, making it the ideal choice for long-term use.

The availability of this item is 4 (out of 5), meaning you’ll have to scrounge around your house or town to find one.

The ease of use for this item is 6 (out of 10), as it requires some skill to throw accurately without burning yourself in the process.

We recommend using Molotovs when you need an extra boost in temperature or cooking time because they are easy to make and store well in chests without taking up too much space!

5) Matches

Sparking a flame and lighting a match will provide a circle of light around you.

Primarily used to light candles or campfires, you should always have a pack handy.

You’re most likely to find matches in drawers, counters, and side tables around various homes.

4) Lighter

If you’ve ever tried to get a fire going in real life, you know the struggle of forgetting your lighter.

Sure, there are plenty of ways to light a fire but nothing makes it as simple as a good old fashioned lighter.

The lighter has a heat output of 5, so it’s best suited for small tasks such as cooking or boiling water rather than heating up an entire room or cabin. It also has an availability rating of 10%, making it fairly easy to find in most situations.

The ease-of-use rating for this item is 8/10 because it doesn’t require any special tools or skillsets; all you need is some kindling and tinder (which can be found by searching around) then strike up your flame!

3) Torch

The torch can provide light during the day or night, but not both at once; therefore you should use it when you need light and not waste fuel by leaving it lit all day long if there’s no reason for doing so (you’ll want to save that precious fuel!).

If you have some spare time after getting through your daily routine or just want something fun to do while waiting around for zombies–or other players–to come knocking on your door then try exploring different areas around town using only torches as illumination!

2) Campfire

The campfire is the next best thing to a fireplace, and can be found in most houses. It burns for four hours, has a heat output of three and can be used eight times before it’s gone for good (you’ll have to find another one).

The campfire is also very easy to use–just click on it with any item in hand (like a stick) and you’ll get some firewood from which you can start your own blaze.

Ever-reliable, easy to craft, and always located nearby, the campfire is certainly one of the best fire sources in the game!

1) Fireplace

The fireplace is a very effective heat source, and it’s one of the most reliable ways to keep your house warm.

Before you begin to build your fireplace, you will need to gather some supplies. First, you will need fuel sources. This can be done by harvesting wood from trees or cutting down stumps with an axe. You can also find coal in abandoned mineshafts and caves.

Once you have all this, you can light your fireplace and bask in the warm, bright goodness that emits from its center.
